The contact owns a 2020 Buick Regal TourX. The contact stated that while her daughter was attempting to adjust the front driver’s seat, she heard a snapping sound and the seat then failed to respond. Upon inspection, the contact’s daughter discovered that the front driver’s seat lower cross bar had detached, and the seat could not be adjusted, rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V762000 (SEATS). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Ever since we purchased the vehicle new in 2020 we had an issue with intermittent mulfunction of the parking and cross traffic alerts indicators. The backup camera screen often fails to indicate whether there is cross traffic and from which side. The issue is present about 8/10 times. While the vehicle was under warranty we took it multiple times to two GM dealerships. Technicians updated the vehicle software but the issue remained. It is now going on 4th year that we don't know whether a parking sensor is beeping from our angled driveway or if there is a vehicle approaching from either (and which side!?) of our street, rendering these optional safety feature unreliable. In addition to documenting the issue when visiting the dealerships I also extensively documented the issue as it occurred by photographing the alert system and milage odometer in the same photo frame. One such recent photo is attached. There is a vehicle approaching but the visual indicator is absent. Despite more than ample patience with GM the company inaction on this safety problem remains.
We were Christmas shopping driving down city streets when we heard a loud popping sound. When we pulled over to see what it was, the front passenger’s side seat belt buckle release no longer worked but the seat belt came out without resistance. It has not worked since. The dealer has confirmed the issue but says the part is back ordered without estimated delivery date. By the way, I have looked for parts in junkyards. I have found junk yards with TourXes but not this part as it has already been sold. I have the part if you want to inspect it.
